High School Film Competition
The winners of the 2006 FLIFF High School Film Competition have been announced and they are:
Best Narrative
PIECES directed by Christopher Jarvis of Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan
A young man who feels alone and stuck in a paranoid routine seeks counseling, but he ends up playing a more bizarre game of chess. This film was created for a video festival in which teams had only 25 hours to complete their assigned project.
Best Documentary
RICH GIRL directed by Stephanie Adams of Downtown Community Television Center, New York, NY
Stephanie describes herself as 'the kind of person who like to get out and do things.' By showing some of the activities in her life, Stephanie proves that regardless of the fact that she and her family are living in a homeless shelter, she is rich.
Best Art Film
MANY PATHS directed by Lily Erlinger of St Peter's Lutheran, Miami FL
'Many Paths' is an art film about religious tolerance, human fallibility and the fear that creates faith.
