The Broward County Film Society is the very essence of non-profit. As a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Cultural Institution, your gift is tax-deductible (consult your accountant on IRS rules). We gladly accept both restricted (you can designate how you want your money spent!) and unrestricted (general operating funds aren’t sexy, but they make the machine go!). As well as IN KIND Services.

So many ways to DONATE and make a difference! We truly value the support of the community to continue promoting arts & culture thru movies…TAKE A VACATION FROM ORDINARY FILM…

Though not as sexy as a new program or a piece of new equipment, we can testify that no donation is as important. General Operations include the utilities, film rights, repairs and maintenance, fuel, insurance, fees, salaries…in short, everything we need to pay to exist. Your donation will receive program credit in the Annual FLIFF Catalog.

Last year, The Film Society was one of just three organizations to receive a brand new cultural facility grant from the County. Our greenlighted proposal was to completely tear out the seven small, nearly unusable rooms, and create a fashionable dressing & green room area. We have had so many stars over the years that had to huddle in squalor (Christopher Plummer, Claire Bloom, Matthew Broderick, Leslie Caron, David Fincher, Jane Lynch, Eli Wallach…and oh so many more).

The remaining 75% of the area will be a catering kitchen. We all know the miracles Michelle can create in a hallway, we need enhance the area so we can enhance your experience.

Miller Construction will do the buildout at cost, and architect Leo Hansen, who did FLIFF’s original renovation in 2002 pro bono, will do so again. Our plan was to secure forty $1500 sponsors and one $60K sponsor. We would name the Kitchen and the Dressing Room after that sponsor(s).

We need to raise $120,000, and we are seeking forty $1,500 Silver Wall Sponsors, and one Title Sponsor at $60,000, after which we will name the Kitchen and Dressing Room after (could be named for more than one person).

Give - Time

One of the most valuable gifts

your time. We need volunteers 365 days a year. At Cinema Paradiso Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood locations, we need help answering the phone, selling tickets, ushering, cleaning, helping with gala events, cutting the grass, counting ballots…and away from CP we have outdoor movies, parties, community outreach, plus our outreach to Sunrise, Weston, Davie, Pompano, St Augustine and Grand Bahama Island.

Mary Porter was a philanthropist and humanitarian who lived in Broward County. She believed that giving back is a part of who we are as a people. Mary’s giving spanned the range of all issues in Broward including the arts, animal welfare, health and human services and more. She enjoyed investing in community solutions and was excited to be a part of a community of active givers. Mary worked with the Community Foundation in her philanthropy during her lifetime and wanted us to be the stewards of her giving after she was gone.

One of three Funds created in the fall of 2012 from her estate, the Mary N. Porter Legacy Fund at the Community Foundation of Broward is designed to support capital projects including new construction, renovations and other major capital initiatives to improve the quality of services in Broward. This is the first Fund of this kind in our county, specifically addressing the capital needs of our community and Cinema Paradiso Hollywood is a proud recipient.
